Circuit Trekking |
Manaslu Circuit trek is
acknowledged as the most challenging trails in the western
part of the Nepal, opened in 1992 for trekkers. This trek
will reward the adventurous with an unparalleled alpine
experience. And it has the well combination of rich culture
heritage, splendid beauty and biological diversity. This
trek explores the area around Manaslu which is the eighth
highest mountain in the world at 8,156 m (26,758 ft),
located in the Mansiri Himal, part of the Nepalese Himalayas.
And also, Mount Annapurna the tenth highest mountain about
forty miles east from Mt. Manaslu. Besides, these mountains
there are Mount Himalchuli (7890m), Ganesh Himal (7429m)
and many more subsidiary mountains in these surroundings.
The trail is winding and rice paddies of the Gurung and
Magar villages along the Budhi Gandaki River valley soon
give way to steep tracks cut into the cliffs of the river
gorge. As you enter; the rain shadow of Manaslu close
to the Tibetan border, the scenery changes dramatically.
Sparse forests decorated with colourful prayer flags,
and many shrines proclaim the region's Tibetan Buddhist
heritage. While the approach to Larkya La is demanding,
your reward is incomparable views of Manaslu and Himlung
Himal from the pass. A steep descent into rhododendron
forests will then bring you to the Marshyangdi River Valley
and the more traveled Annapurna trails, which lead back
to the road let the world go by. There is no better place
to start this trek than from historic Gorkha, home of
King Prithvi Narayan Shah; who united Nepal into one country. |
