Details itinerary for Trek and Expedition - Yuksam- Dzongri- Climbing to Mt. Thinchenkhan- Gochala Trek.
Day 01: Bagdogra – Gangtok (East Sikkim) (5 hrs).
Day 02: Gangtok Sightseeing & preparation for expedition.
Day 03: Transfer from Gangtok to Yuksom Stay O/N.
Day 04: Trek from Yuksam to Tsokha (3000m). O/N (7 hrs)
Day 05: Trek from Tsokha to Phedang. (3450m) O/N. (3 hrs)
Day 06: Trek from Phedang to Dzongri (4030m) O/N. (4 hrs)
Day 07: Trek from Dzongri to Thangshing. (3841 m ) O/N. ( 5 hrs)
Day 08: Thangsing (3841m) - Base Camp (approx. 4310m) 3 hrs.
Day 09: Base Camp (4310m) - Camp I - Base Camp (4310m) 5 hrs.
Day 10: Base Camp (4310m) - Camp I: 4 - 5 hrs
Day 11: Extra Day
Day 12: Camp I –Summit-Mt.Thinchingkhang (6010m) - Camp I: 7-8 hrs
Day 13: Camp I (approx. 5510m) - Base Camp (4310m)(4-5 hrs).
Day 14: Extra Day
Day 15: Base Camp - Göechela – Thangshing-Lamuni (5-6 hrs).
Day 16: Thangsing (3800m) - Tshoka (3050m) 7 hrs.
Day 17: Tshoka (3050m)- Yoksum (1780m) 6 hrs
Day 18: Yuksom – via Khachupari Lake Pelling O/N
Day 19: Pelling – Darjeeling drop. Tour and trek ends.
Expedition $ USD 150 per person with all climbing Royalties.
The price includes - Pick up & drop including all necessary transportation, 3 category hotels Accommodation in Gangtok & Pamayangtse, Yuksom and Darjeeling with All meals (AP Basis). Trekking support with trekking guide, cook, potters, yaks, trekking accommodation with meals & beverages, services for trekking permit, Khangchendzonga National Park fees, Expedition Royalties fee & other necessary services.
Expedition Royalties-
The following royalties are levied for the expeditions.
For foreign expedition teams: US$ 350 per team of upto four members, US$ 500 per team of upto eight members and US$ 75 for every additional member.
The cost does not include
Expenses of personal nature such as laundry,
Telephone, alcohol and personal insurance however cover immediate medical facilities, extra expenses due to unforeseen circumstances such as landslide/strike/accidents/natural calamities, Ropeway, Airfare Ticket, Himalayan toy train ride in Darjeeling and tips etc.
Please noted are following information as below.
Its is very necessary advisable to book the peaks well in advance with us in order to complete all the official formalities. Generally we obtain the permit in a period of one week. Rescue operations during emergencies and accidents are looked after by the liaison officer who will coordinate with us and government machinery.
Expedition ensured that the mountain was left pristine and all non bio -degradable items were brought back and disposed. All major group equipment was supplied by organizer consisting of carabineers, ice bars, dead-man, climbing ropes, Ice axe, ascenders, descenders, crampons etc. The vertical climb of more than 90 degrees was negotiated on fixed ropes and ice screws as per the plan.
Trekking Permit and Climbing
Trekking permit for restricted area needs to be obtained for this trek area. As this trek area is being officially opened in due time, a special permit needs to be obtained well in advance. Please inform all members to bring along four copies of the passport photos. The permit can be obtained in advanced by sending us the passport photocopies along with the photocopies of the Indian Visa with four -passport size photo each.
The permit Climbing is procedure takes a bit longer time- about 1 week in advance.
